Council Governance introduces participants to the operations of a municipal council in Nunavut. This course reviews the roles, powers, function and authority of a municipal council, explains the concept of “governance by policy,” explores the relationship between council and staff, and provides guidelines covering key areas of council operations.

Participants learn about the principles, standards and best practices of contracting, and work with actual documents used by Nunavut municipalities.
